My husband chased me out, brought back the wife he divorced 17yrs ago —Wife

A 60-year-old married man, Mungule, on the outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia, had to bring back his former wife because he could not settle the loan he owed her.

Boyd Siame was sued by his wife in the Matero Local Court last month for the case of marriage reconciliation on grounds that he had gone back to his former wife.

The couple has been married since 2007.

According to Zambia Observer, his wife, Magadalene Mulenga, 56, complained that Boyd suddenly changed and chased her from their matrimonial home because he wanted to bring back his former lover after they had been separated for 17 years.

She said after chasing her, he even stopped eating her food, no matter the amount of seasoning she added.

“He chased me saying he wanted to bring in his former wife. When I asked him why, he told me that it was because he owed her money that he couldn’t pay.

“So together, they sold our plot belonging to my husband and I, and they both spent the money,” Magadalene said.

Boyd responding told the court that his marriage with Magadalene was not a love one but rather arranged, and that on top of that, he is not her first husband.

He added that despite the above reasons, he still did not neglect Magadalene after bringing back his former wife.

“I spend one week each with her and her mate, but she sleeps with her clothes on saying that I insult her.

“We have not had sex for two months.

“She also disrespects me,” said Boyd.

But when asked if both parties wanted to reconcile, they both answered, yes.

“Do not go back to your former wife. It is not good to go back to your past,” the magistrate, Lewis Mumba, advised Boyd.

Mumba then reconciled the couple and advised the two parties to live in harmony.
