Governor Alex Otti has said that his administration was built on the confidence of the Abia people, assuring to justify it.
Otti stated this in Umuahia on Tuesday while performing the swearing-in ceremony of the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Mike Akpara and Special Adviser on Trade, Commerce and Industry; Chief Nwaka Inem who were not sworn in alongside others last month.
He said his administration has no alternative but to do the right thing in order to move the state forward from backwardness.
Speaking after the administration of the Oath of Office and Allegiance on the appointees by the Solicitor General of the State, Lady Uzoamaka Ikonne, the Governor further charged the newly appointed commissioners to give their best to ensure the administration succeeds, adding that the era of paying money to serve in the State is gone.
Governor Otti noted that there was no doubt that they would deliver beyond the expectations of the people, pointing out that he has already hit the ground running by declaring a state of emergency in various sectors including education, healthcare, and waste management among others.
He advised the appointees not to pay attention to the antics of the opposition but to focus on delivering good governance to the people.
