Muslim youths urged to proffer solutions to global challenges

Islamic cleric, Dr. Jubril Lasisi has advised Muslim youths in Nigeria to ensure they are equipped with solutions to meet up with global challenges.

Lasis, while speaking at the 2-day Bi-Ennial Conference of National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Ogun State chapter held in Sagamu, urged Muslim youth organisations to rise to create templates for the development of Nigeria in particular.

Speaking on the theme of the conference “Muslim Youth Organisations: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, Lasisi urged the youth to “embrace the spirit of project-driven, the economics of dawwah, documentation, innovative thinking among others as a recipe towards attaining of a visionary organisation.”

Also at the conference, members of NACOMYO selected a new set of executives led by Dr Solih Amolegbe as State Coordinator and Daud Akinbo as state secretary to steer the affairs of the organisation for the next two years.

Other members of the new executives include Alhaji Bariu Kehinde as Deputy State Coordinator, Lawal Abdul Mojeed as assistant secretary, Yusuf Ibrahim as financial secretary, Monsurat Adeniregun as treasurer, Ustaz Ibrahim Abd Kabir as Murshid, Alhaji Mudashir Owoyele as deputy Murshid, among others.

Earlier in his acceptance speech, the new state coordinator, Amolegbe enjoined all members to support the new regime in keeping the flag of the council flying.

Amolegbe charged all the newly-elected officers to see their respective roles as an act meant to attract Allah’s pleasure and reward in this world and hereafter adding that members and stakeholders must come together to develop NACOMYO to international standards.

The conference was attended by eminent religious and community leaders including Alhaji (Imam) Abdul Quadri Junaid, the Grand Chief Imam of Remoland; Alhaji (Engr) Abdul Waheed Shittu, Chief Imam LAFARGE Africa PLC. (WAPCO); Alhaji Olatunde Adesanya (Baba Adeen of Araromi Central Mosque, Oke-Ibu, Sagamu) and Alhaja Asimowu Ashimolowo (Otun Iya Sunnah, Sagamu Central Mosque), delegates across the six (6) administrative divisions of NACOMYO in the state among others.
