OYO State Governor of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Mr Taiwo Omotunde, has urged musicians not to be discouraged as music will pay someday.
Speaking with at the 30th anniversary celebration of Christ Omega Singers and Preaching Ministry, Wofun Exide Road, Kute, Ibadan, Omotunde noted that even if musicians are not paid royalties now, they should forge ahead as a time would come when they would be paid.
According to the governor, “Music is a gift, don’t ignore it,” as it is not everybody who can sing.

Omotunde commended of the leader of the group, Revd. Joseph Sunday Adeniyi, who is also an author and poet; whom he has known for over 30 years. According to Omotunde Adeniyi is dedicated to the gospel and is a consistent and stable member of PMAN and the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN).
Revd. Adeniyi, thanked God for sustaining his life and that of his Ministry members in the last 30 years, though a few years back he was ill to the point of death.
He said 33 of them started the group in 1989 but that they are only 13 left now. “It is not that anyone of us died but the Ministry is a training ground for musicians and today, we are graduating three of our members.”
The three graduands are Adeniyi Adeola, Olapade Tolulope and Adeniyi Ibukun.
The Ministry also launched its fifth album, Aftermath (Atubotan), to commemorate its 30th anniversary.
The four previous albums by the group include so ti loko? (Do you have a husband?); Ma se bokan je (Don’t be troubled); God, I believe and Olugbala Iyanu (The Miraculous Saviour).
The President, Omega Singers, Revd. Adeniyi, also founded a church, Christ The Alpha and Omega Gospel Church in 2002.
Two notable women in Kute, Chief Mrs Kemi Omotayo Kamorudeen and Chief Mrs Olatokunbo Wahab were awarded as Patronesses of the Ministry.
Pastor Oladeji (Rosagin) preached on the theme, Adoration and Honour, on the occasion while Lady Evangelist Julianah Ojo led the Egbeda Local Government and other GOMAN members in songs ministration.
