Music is my weapon — Davido •Fighting him was bigger than fighting Abacha —Dele Momodu

As David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, continues to push his dominance across the African continent like he did last year, the music star, who loves to be called son of mercy, has described music as the only weapon he has to shoot down all battles that come his way.

Davido, who will kick off his N30 billion world tour UK tour in February said he would not have come this far in life without music, adding that he may have come from a wealthy family, but his decision to follow his passion has paid off tremendously.

“I have never stopped believing in my talent. I know the only weapon I have is music and I have been deploying it the best way I can.”

If staging one of the biggest music concerts in Nigeria last year does not illustrate the major difference between him and his peers in the music industry, the sold out concerts and international recognitions that capped 2017 for the father of two will arguably tell more about his dominance on the scene.

“I just want to keep entertaining my fans with music, good music. You know how we did it last year; nothing is changing this time. We are stepping up the game in a big way becuase music is the only weapong I have and I will continue to use it to delight of my fans,” he said.

Despite the success recorded last year, Davido said the journey to conquer Africa and Europe has begun with the announcement of another round of OBO concert that kicks off in London.

“We are starting from Leicester, later to Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Always believe in yourself and never believe anything can stop you from reaching the top.”

Barely a month after squashing their 2-year-old beef, veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation Magazine has revealed that fighting Davido was bigger than combating Abacha.

Momodu was at the ‘Celebrity House Mate’ on Thursday where he talked about the issue between him and Davido, saying fighting the pop star was his biggest battle ever.

“It was bigger than fighting Abacha because of the blistering popularity of David; he is an extremely popular guy and it was very unfortunate, because a baby was involved. When it happened, I tried my best to avoid a collision with the family because I am very close to the family, especially because of Senator Ademola Adeleke”, Momodu said.
