Musawa, Ezekwesili, Okonjo-Iweala, others bag Women Making Impact Awards

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has expressed gratitude to Arise Group for recognizing the 65 Women Making Impact across the world.

Musawa made this known during a gala night held at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on Monday to honor a remarkable group of Nigerian women in celebration of International Women’s Month.

Receiving her award from former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Minister Musawa emphasized the strength and resilience of women, highlighting their ability to be both sensitive and courageous.

Barrister Musawa, who praised Nigerian women for breaking gender barriers, expressed optimism that her achievement would inspire young girls across Nigeria to thrive and reach new heights.

“It is a huge honor for me in a country like Nigeria, where so many women have broken the glass ceiling to be honored in this way. The greatest thing about women is their ability to be sensitive and emotional while at the same time courageous and strong.

“There is an honor and prestige that comes with being a woman. It is a huge honor for me, and I hope that all of us will stand as a representation so that all the little girls all over Nigeria will know that they too can thrive and break that glass ceiling,” she said.

Barrister Musawa, a distinguished Nigerian lawyer, politician, and writer who exemplifies dedication and excellence, added that the recognition is a testament to the power of women everywhere.

The Women of Impact Awards honored 65 outstanding Nigerian women, including Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, recognized for her significant contributions to the World Trade Organization and Nigeria’s economic development; H.E. Amina Mohammed; Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha; Obiageli Ezekwesili; the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination/Head of the Central Results Delivery and Coordination Unit (CRDCU); and Ojinika Okpe of Arise News.
