Telecoms company, MTN has closed its offices nationwide following the vandalism of the company’s properties on Monday.
Tribune Online reports that the outrage resulted from the network provider barring the lines of some subscribers on Sunday due to a mismatch in their National Identification Number and SIM registration.
Some MTN offices were vandalised by aggrieved customers whose lines were disconnected for defaulting in the NIN-SIM linkage policy.
Hours after the incident, MTN said it was closing its offices nationwide on Tuesday.
“Yello customer, please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July 2024,” the company said on its customer support X handle.
MTN, however, directed its customers to use their “digital channels” for support.
