MTN shines at ATCON awards

 INFORMATION and Communications Technology Company, MTN Nigeria, emerged the biggest winner of the night at the 2nd edition of the Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecom Awards (NTITA), over the weekend, as it bagged five awards, including the Telecoms Company of the Year, at the annual recognition event, held in Lagos.

The event, organized by the Instinct Wave and Association of Telecom Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), saw the telecoms company being recognized in other areas, such as: Social Impact Award, Digital Transformation Award, Customer Experience Award and Telcom CEO of the Year awards.

Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, its Corporate Relations Executive,  Tobechukwu Okigbo,  expressed the organization’s delight to the organizers and the independent judges, for deeming it fit for the awards.

“We are honored,  not only to receive these, but to have been considered nominees in such lofty categories. MTN Nigeria has always and will continue to strive for excellence in all frontiers.

“Recognition for the work that thousands of us come together for every day is incentive to do more, create more and be more,” he stated.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of Instinct Wave, Akin Naphtal, explained that the prestigious award had, in the past few years, become the benchmark for outstanding performance and a symbol of excellence in leadership in the highly competitive technology industry.

He explained that the  choice of the awardee and others, was arrived at  after they had passed through the rigorous screenings of  judges, formed from an independent panel of industry experts, with the aim of recognizing  organizational performances products and services, innovations and even  executives.
