Mr Richard Iweanoge, the General Manager, Brands and Communications, Marketing and Strategy of the company, disclosed this in Lagos over the weekend.
He said that the promotion of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage was part of MTN Nigeria’s corporate social responsibility to the Nigerian public.
Iweanoge said that MTN Nigeria had co-sponsored laudable initiatives such as, “Fela and the Kalakuta Queens” stage play and the African Drum Festival and others in the past.
It would continue to promote the sector as it had been doing in the past, he said.
Iweanoge said that the nation had a rich in cultural diversity which was the main reason why MTN Nigeria decided to collaborate with others to promote it.
He also said that the festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, recently showcased the country’s rich cultural-heritage.
