MTN CEO’s father, Olubiyi Toriola crowned Modakeke monarch

Prince Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, an 81- year old biological father of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the largest telecommunications provider in Nigeria, MTN, Karl Olutokun Toriola was on Saturday installed as the new Ogunsua of Modakeke in Ife South local government area of Osun State.

The ceremony which attracted sons and daughters of the town and other important dignitaries from the state also had in attendance eminent personalities and well wishers from all walks of life who trooped out to grace the occasion.

Speaking at the event held at the town’s palace, the newly installed monarch, Oba Toriola appreciated God for making his dream come to fruition.

He also appreciated community members for their efforts in making the day a heroic one and promised to do his best to contribute positively to the advancement of the town.

The monarch who revealed that, he had been in line of being the monarch of the town for the past 43 years affirmed that, he will work together with all stakeholders in the community to bring more development to our community.

He however assured members of the community to expect rapid development in the land in no distance time, saying all hands would be deck to make the town a pacesetting one as efforts would be intensified to attract investors into the community.

In an interview with, Vulnerable Julius Odelola Odegbemi, National president, Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU), the president described the newly installed monarch as humble, straightforward, generous and enterprising saying, he believed, he would use his wealth of experience to transform Modakeke.

Odegbemi who argued that, he was an exposed personality and laced with superlative ability in administration, maintained that, his inexplicable connections as a well travelled person would fast track rapid development of the community.

Before his installation, the new Oba was said to be a successful business mogul who is well loved in the community by his kinsmen because of his generousity.
