The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) is the engine room of unending economic growth of every country been the largest employers of citizens.
The Vice President who disclosed this in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital in his speech while launching the 28th edition of MSMEs clinic, said “the MSMEs is a Federal Government initiative to work with the state governments to promote and support the small and medium enterprises for the rapid economic development.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo noted that the Federal Government has settled over 265,000 artisans out of 355,000 targged under the National
He added that “the present administration promised that the small and medium enterprises would get the best support aimed at ensuring socio-economic development through jobs creations.”
“SME Clinic is a project in which Federal Government is collaborating with state governments to host all advisory and regulatory bodies of SME in one place to avoid unnecessary delay and bottleneck in the setup and development of the business in Nigeria.”
The vice president reiterated the commitment of Federal Government to poverty eradication growth and development by creating enabling environment for the development of big, medium and small enterprises in Nigeria.
Osinbajo commended Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammdu Badaru Abubakar, for his prudelent and exemplary leadership which makes Jigawa to become a Face-Setter on Agricultural and SME develop in Nigeria.
The Vice president had also during the visit commission road project and launched the distribution of empowerment packages, including tractor and other agricultural implements to over 923 beneficiaries initiated by Jigawa State government.
In her speech during the visit, the State Minister for Trade and Investment Ambassador Maryam Katagum, said supporting and building the capacity of Small and Medium entrepreneurs to improve their production and its standard is very critical as Intercontinental Free. Trade Agreement commenced.
She added that, her ministry will collaborate with all government agencies and private entrepreneurs to ensure Nigerians reap from the advantage of the free trade.
