Mrs Ambode a role model, strong pillar of support ―Group

A group under the aegis of Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard (IEV), has described the wife of Lagos State governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, as a role model and a strong support for her husband, saying such support had manifested in the giant strides recorded across all sectors in the state.

The group, made up of social activists, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), artisans, political groups and youths and led by its Coordinator, Mr Bamigbade Seyi, said this on Monday in a statement issued to felicitate with the governor’s wife that recently turned 54.

IEV further described Mrs Ambode as a humble and compassionate mother who combines decency and commitment to excellence, adding that, “In personal and public life, she has been able to worm her way into the hearts of so many Lagosians.”

The group, while describing the wife of Lagos State governor as a role model, a detribalized Lagosian and shining star in the state political firmament, said she was one in a million in humankind.

“Mrs Bolanle Ambode is a detribalized Lagosian who has traversed the length and breadth of the state, helping the less-privilege people, seeking the emancipation of women and the youths for an egalitarian society through her pet project the Hope for Women in Nigeria Initiative (HOFOWEM).

“Her undying love for the downtrodden, the deprived and the ordinary folks across the state is widely acknowledged, while her unflinching backing for the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration has helped tremendously in the fulfilment of its electioneering promises to Lagosians,” IEV said.

The group, however, prayed that God gives Mrs Ambode the strength to enable her to continue to work beyond 2019 for the betterment of her fatherland as savoured the joy of the occasion of the celebration of her birthday.

“As you are savouring the joy of this occasion, it is our prayer that God Almighty strengthens you so that you can continue working beyond 2019 for the betterment of your fatherland,” it said.

Meanwhile, the group, Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard (IEV), has lauded members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives from Lagos State for endorsing the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, for a second term in office.

The lawmakers led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila had on Saturday came to Lagos House to affect the endorsement through a letter they delivered to the governor, citing the massive infrastructural development and giant strides in all sectors and sections of the state.
