Motor accident claims three lives in Osun

Published by

No fewer than three people lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Osogbo/Ikirun Road on Tuesday evening.

The incident, which involved a truck and a car, according to investigations, revealed that the two vehicles involved in the fatal accident were heading in the same direction in Ikirun when the incident happened.

The cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained as at the time of filing in this report, but this could not be unconnected with the loss of control of the truck driver who reportedly hit the car occupied by the three deaths that lost their lives in the accident

Apparently feeling he could be attacked by the irate mob who visited the scene of the incident, the truck driver said to have run away so as not to be killed or lynched by the sympathisers.

Speaking on the accident on Wednesday, the spokesperson of Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kehinde Adeleke, hinted that the accident claimed three lives on the spot.

” According to an eyewitness, the accident was a result of reckless driving and overspeeding by the driver of the said trailer, who took to his heel immediately after the incident.”

She explained that the fatal accident occurred around 2025 hrs on February 27, 2024, along the Ikirun-Osogbo Motorway, and it involved a Lexus 350 car and an unregistered trailer.
