As part of activities to herald the Theatre Mania Africa Festival #TAF 2019, the organisers in conjunction with Black Image Theatre Productions and Piccadilly Suites have announced the names of lead casts for the stage play.

The casts include the anchor of the popular television programme, Your View on TVC, Morayo Afolabi; ace comedian Owen Gee; popular actors, Rotimi Adelegan and  Lateef Dimeji and comedian, Black Image Theatre & Glorious Performance (GPDM) Troupe, Buchi.

The play entitled: Grain in the Wind-the Musical is a political satire that comically situates and lampoon the Nigerian political/socio-economic situation, and indeed, a must see for all and sundry, R gathered.

The play is scheduled for Saturday, August 25 at the Piccadilly Suites, Agungi, Lekki, Lagos as red carpet holds by 5pm and command performance at 6pm.

According to the producer, Alayande Stephen, the piece is a combination of so many matic thrusts from dictatorship, ethnic jingoism, religious bias, betrayal, youthful exuberance, nepotism, discrimination, unity, political thuggery, and oneness of purpose, among others.

“This work of art is not only historical and strategic, but it is an opportunity to comically showcase the myriad of problem militating against Nigerian democracy and the unity of her existence as a people. However, the beauty of the play is that it didn’t only lampoon the negative social vices of the society, it also proffers solutions to the issues,” he added.

The organisers also hinted that the play was put together to honour and appreciate the effort of Senator Adeola Solomon Yayi, representing Lagos West Senatorial District, as a staunch supporter of arts, theatre, movie industry in Nigeria.
