The House of Representatives observed a moment of silence and vowed to monitor the investigation of the late Afrobeats singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, who died two weeks ago .

The lower chamber paid the tribute at the start of an executive session following the reconvening of plenary in Abuja.

Following a motion of urgent significance by Mr Babajimi Benson, member of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, the House resolved to monitor the investigation into his death and royalties due to him.

Benson has called for a review of the applicable laws that govern the entertainment sector, as well as copyright laws, and has expressed concerns about the contracts and agreements that entertainers are required to sign.
