Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m 23 years old, from Ile-Ife, Osun State. I am 300 level student at the National Open University of Nigeria studying Criminology and Security Studies. I’m also a livestock farmer.
What do you major in?
Majorly, I’m a model(commercial and runway)and pageant king.
How does your position affect lives?
Basically, becoming the Mr Nigeria Global has given me a platform to advocate and be a mouthpiece or role model for the youths of Nigeria. The major idea of being a pageant king is ‘service to humanity’ in all forms. For example, my upcoming project titled “DIS IS ABILITY” is majorly for those with disabilities to make them understand there’s ability in disability through a skill acquisition, empowerment programmes and exhibition which will be coming up sometime this year.
What has been your biggest fear in what you do?
Failure i.e not being able to prove to the world that models are vessels unto honour and not unto dishonour.
What has kept you working?
There’s a quote that I build my whole world around which says, “Tough times don’t last, only tough people do”. This particular quote has been my driving force and also my father; I just want to make him understand that modeling or anyone into entertainment as a whole can be vessels of honour and not unto dishonour.
Tell us your achievements so far?
Well, all praise be unto God who has brought me this far. I was crowned the first ever Mr Osun International on the 19th of May 2018. I represented Osun State at Mr Nigeria International 2019 which led me to my current title as the Mr Nigeria International Global on the fifth of October 2019. I was nominated for West African Citizens awards as the next rated ‘Pageant king of the year’ and won. I have also been presented an award of excellence as the ambassador of Iwo land where I live, by the Oluwo of Iwo land.
As a winning model, what are your aspirations?
It is every model’s dream to be on the top billboards, runways and also conduct commercial adverts but aside all these, I just want to be that model who will redefine people’s orientation about modeling. I hope to make them see modeling as a career that it should be not some side hustle.
What do you have to say to upcoming models?
Like I said earlier, tough times don’t last, only tough people do. Be determined and never give up on yourself. You and you alone can be your perfect driving force. And of course, sign up for castings.
Did you foresee yourself being where you are today?
Five years ago, I never saw myself becoming ‘Mr Nigeria Global’ but then, I had always aspired to be in a position to make a positive change in my country and the world at large.
What are your aspirations in the next five years?
I promise myself and Nigerians, that parents and kids would look up to me as a role model to reckon with.
