MNCH Week: 456 health centres to attend to women, children in Adamawa

NO fewer than 456 health facilities have been designated across Adamawa to attend to women and children in the ongoing Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Week.

The state Commissioner of Health, Dr Fatima Atiku, made this known Monday in Yola while flagging-off the week in Yola North Local Government.

He said that the week was organised by the state ministry of health and the agency with support from the Federal Government.

Margwa said that necessary arrangements were made to ensure maximum success of the week.

The District Head of Jimeta Metropolis in Yola, Alhaji Mohammad Inuwa, called for mass participation of the residents in the exercise.

He gave the assurance that traditional rulers would mobilise parents for its success.

Inuwa also called for a clean environment as a preventive measure against diseases.
