Long before this time, the African fashion industry lacked a convincing representation of Africa’s rich motifs and creativity that could make it stand comparatively and relatively at par with other global fashion industries.

However in the recent years, the African fashion industry has made a paradigm shift from being unnoticeable and from boring fashion looks to a hub of trendy creativity that commands world’s concentration and acceptability. This became achievable because of trailblazers who has not only populated the African Fashion Industry but infiltrating the industry with unusual creative mindsets and harmonising traditional look with modern trend to create masterpiece-wears; thus setting the pace for the African brand all over the world with Afrocentric looks and styles.

One of such trailblazers is the fashion brand – Mip’s World, established in Nigeria in 2016 by its visionary Founder who also doubles as the Lead Content and Creative Director- Raphael Oluwatimileyin, Ogungbire. According to him; the aim of establishing the brand was not just to increase the statistics of the Nigerian fashion brands but to reshape the narrative of the African fashion and its global inclusiveness and became a leading fashion hub beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Without mincing words, Mip’s World has been living to these expectations as evidently portrayed in its mode of operations which combine creativity, simplicity and traditionality in the production of unique wears that exude the rich African beauty and creativity. Mip’s World’s expertise and mastery of merging traditional African motifs with modern and aesthetic designs have been predominantly experienced in transforming fabrics to exquisite looks that satisfy the tastes of fashion enthusiasts. And this explains the distinction of Mip’s World among other fashion brands.

Because fashion is also artistic, since its establishment, Mip’s World has been registering the rich heritage and cultural arts of Africa on kaftans, bespoke, coutures, Western dresses and other wears the brand produces.

For me, Mip’s World perceives the African fashion to be a storyline that evolves and being communicated. However, the brand is guided with the operational idea that with creativity comes a new appearance and with creativity comes also a sense of modernity. As a fashion oriented brand with vast understanding of the Afrocentric fashion evolution, Mip’s World has been noticeably promoting the Afocentric fashion in contemporary era through craftsmanship of wears that exuberates ancient values and story-telling.

Overall, I can boldly submit that with every creation from this brand comes authenticity and the passion to give the African fashion industry a face-lift. Mip’s World, has made it evident that that only Africans can create and wear the the African styles best. The craftsmanship employed in the brand’s sewing operations will remain a fresh pointer to class and distinction.
