Ministerial list: Group recommends Lai Mohammed’s reappointment

Published by

Apex sociocultural organization of indigenes of Igbomina land in Kwara state, Omo Ibile Igbomina, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consider the reappointment of the incumbent minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

In a statement signed by the national leader of the organization, Engineer Timothy Adebayo, in Ilorin at the weekend, the people said that a documentary of 2019 electoral victory in Kwara state would not be complete without the minister’s contributions.

It is recalled that some politicians from Kwara South district of the state recently called for the rejection of the minister’s reappointment, the call which the organization described as calculated mischief and blackmail.

The organization, which admonished the politicians to shun politics of bitterness and run-him-down political strategy, said that doing such would backfire on polity, “with consequences on our cohesion, focus and development”.

The people, who said that the minister is versed in the discharge of his assignment to the admiration of his employer as minister of Information and Culture, added that they believe he could do better.

“There are always two sides of a coin. It is unfortunate these people refused to see the sterling quality of leadership endowed Alhaji Lai Mohammed. A documentary of 2019 electoral victory will not be complete and authentic without the minister’s valuable contributions.

“His carriage exemplifies maturity, discipline, and leadership template. A committed Igbomina citizen and by extension a senior stakeholder and political leader in Kwara state.

“He also attracted lots of development push and projects to Kwara state, a community leader per excellence and a man of the people. He occupied a high orbit when records of the electoral victory of his party in Kwara state 2019 is put on the table”

“Above all, we are proud of him as our ambassador in the larger Nigeria setting, in our collective efforts to take Nigeria to the next level”, the statement said.
