Minister meets conference of state youth parliament speakers

Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, the Minister of State for Youth Development, recently held a meeting with the leadership of the State Youth Parliament Speakers of Nigeria, headed by Chairman Rt. Hon. Osawemwenhio Uwagboe. 

The meeting was also attended by Rt. Hon. Eze Ekewuba, Rt. Hon. Abdulhamid Ibrahim, Rt. Hon. Jerry Gwom, Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz M-Alhassan, Rt. Hon. Ibikunle Olajide, and Rt. Hon. Rachael Tyona. During the meeting, they reviewed the achievements and challenges faced by the state youth parliament speakers.

The youth parliament leaders expressed a desire for a closer working relationship with the Ministry of Youth Development. In response, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom briefed them on the ongoing reforms within the National Youth Parliament and State Youth Parliament. He assured them that their leadership would play a crucial role in these reforms.

Additionally, the minister pledged to collaborate with stakeholders from various state agencies, NGOs, and parastatals to establish a Parliamentary Support Fund. He also agreed on the necessity for legislative training and retraining programs for the youth.

The leadership of the conference expressed their gratitude and committed their continued support to the minister’s office.
