Military operatives arrest seven Suspected Kidnappers in Ondo

ABOUT seven suspected kidnappers have been arrested by men of the military operatives from the 32 Artillery Brigade Brigade, Akure, Ondo state at the early hour of Wednesday, after raiding forests along the road.

Irked by the frequent abduction in the area, the military operatives stormed the notorious kidnappers den within the Akoko area in the Ondo North senatorial District, where seven of the hoodlums were picked up at various pot and camps belonging to the hoodlums

The operation which was led by the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, General James Atugba, took the military to the Oba Akoko, Ose, Akunnu Akoko, and to Ohogo and Ogale communities, the boundaries between Ondo, Edo and Kogi states.

Speaking on the operation, in a statement, the Assistant Director Army, Public Relations Captain Ojo Adelegan explained that the military were moved by the activities of the kidnappers in the areas and decided to put an end to their activities.

According to him, the military operatives combed all the forests where some suspected kidnappers were discovered while some of their informants had been arrested and under interrogation.

He said the military discovered various spots and camp in the forests, while all the camps were destroyed, saying the mopping activity was aimed in checkmating the frequent kidnapping of innocent victims in the area.

He assured the people of the state that kidnappers will be flushed out of the state while he said all the suspects arrested during the exercise will be handed over to appropriate security agency.

He called on member of the public to always inform the operation about the activities of the kidnappers or any other criminal activities in the state saying the command is ready assist in flushing out criminals in the state.
