Military lose another soldier in latest operations against Boko Haram

ONE soldier and four Boko haram insurgents have lost their lives when troops of 145 and 158 Task Force Battalion and 5 Brigade smashed a fish smuggling ring perpetrated by Boko Haram.

Boko Haram terrorists get most of their protein sources from the lake Chad with extras used to fund their criminal activities like purchase of weapons and ammunition.

The success of the recent operations was recorded during a joint ambush operation conducted in Julari village, along Kareto – Damasak road in Borno State.

Spokesman for the 8 task force division of the Nigerian Army, Col Timothy Antigha said that the operation, was countered by troops of the division who took out 4 Boko Haram terrorists in the process.

“In the process, they recovered 1 AK 47 riffle, 1 Toyota Hilux pick up vehicle, 3 Motorcycles, 35 bags of dry fish, 1 bag of bush meat, 3 bags of sugar and 60 litres of engine oil.”

Meanwhile three suicide bombers and their accomplists have died in a renewed attempt by boko haram to waste more lives in the University of Maiduguri which is the hallmark of western education in the town.

This latest attempts were made around nine minutes and ten minutes past one am this morning when two loud explosions reechoed across the town.

The works department has become notorious because it is close to the few functional Churches in the University campus and there is a desperate move by boko haram through its regular suicide squads to bring down those buildings.

Some of the management team were around to inspect the works area but declined speaking to the media concerning the porus nature of the campus which is yet to be fenced round in spite of the lingering attack.

Joint admission and matriculations board JAMB and other ongoing undergraduate internal examinations went on without hitches in the campus throughout Saturday as at the time of filing this report.
