Mercy Aigbe shrugs off husband’s ‘come back’ plea

Actress, Mercy Aigbe is not bothered about her husband’s plea for their likely reconciliation, R has learnt. Indication to the actress’s disposition emerged at Saidi Balogun’s black-and-white event marking the actor’s 50th birthday celebration.

It will be recalled that Aigbe, who is said to have made up her mind to divorce her husband, Lanre Gentry, a popular socialite in Lagos, had alleged that her husband was in the habit of beating her even as she claimed that she suffered a ‘serious’ brain damage the last time she was beaten.

Gentry countered Aigbe’s claims with the two parties throwing banters at each other on social media for weeks. Days back, Gentry was said to have tendered an apology to his estranged wife on Instagram, pleading for fogiveness.

Aigbe, who was the cynosure of all eyes at the event did not look perturbed by the recent happenings in marriage as she looked her elegant self in her flowing black gown as she flaunted her beauty to the amasement of many on-lookers.

Attempts made by newsmen to ask Aigbe about her decision after her husband’s plea fell on deaf ears as the mother of two was not willing to speak on her troubled marriage that has kept her in the news for more than two months.

It was obvious that Aigbe had come to enjoy the night with her colleagues, who turned out in beautiful dresses to honour Said Balogun, who incidentally was announced as the first ambassador of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, a day earlier.
