Mentally sick man hacks two pupils to death in Ogun

Two public primary school pupils, Mubarak Kalesowo and Sunday Obituyi, were on Monday morning hacked to death by one Lekan Adebisi, suspected to be mentally sick.

The ugly incident happened at about 11.15 am at St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Agodo, in Ogun Waterside Area of Ogun State.

The pupils met their untimely death when Adebisi walked into school compound and inflict machete cut on them while they were playing with their mates on the school field, during break time.

They were aged four years each.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the mentally sick man fled the school compound said to be without security gate having committed the heinous act.

This development had thrown the entire  Agodo community into confusion as a search was launched after the sick man.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the ugly incident.

Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, also said that the police led by the Divisional Police Officer, Abigi, have been on the trail of the suspect and get him arrested.

“The incident happened at 11:15am during lunch break. They (pupils) were on the field playing. The guy (suspect) just emerged from the bush and hacked two of them to death and immediately he did it, he ran away.

“Those who know him (suspect) said he is a madman and also an indigene of that place. But we are not relying on that. We are on his trail, we want to get him arrested.

“It is only the medical expert that would confirm whether he is a mad person or not. Our ultimate aim is to get him arrested. As I’m talking to you now, the Area Commander and the DPO Abigi are at the scene. We have set the machinery in motion to get him arrested,” the PPRO added.
