Melaye’s kinsmen condemns Senator’s aggressive disposition to Gov Bello

SENATOR Dino Melaye, has come under attacks by his kinsmen over his alleged aggressive and combative disposition towards the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

They accused the Senator of miss-representing the people of Okunland or the entirety of the old Kabba Province, in the Senate by his recent outburst and vituperation against Governor Bello, and his Local Government Council chairman.

Melaye’s kinsmen under the auspices of Okun Progressive Alliance, in a statement jointly signed by the President and Secretary, Mr Ben Alege and Adeniyi Oloruntoba, respectively, on Thursday in Abuja, said “Senator Melaye has been in the news for all sorts of reasons that are unflattering to our people”.

The duo in the statement said the inimical relationship between Melaye and the State Governor would rob off negatively on the people of Okunland.

Ben Alege, particularly, noted that inasmuch as the people of Okunland may not move for his recall from the Senate, 2019 general election would provide opportunity for the people to speak through ballot papers.

The statement read in prt: True, Nigeria’s democracy is suffering in terms of the quality of representation and it is the responsibility of all constituents to ensure an improvement in coming elections.

“For us in Okunland, we are victims of this grave error in Dino Melaye. As a people, we are consoled by the fact that an opportunity to right the wrong is coming.

“His aggressive and needlessly combative disposition towards our state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, his council chairman and even, the ‘change’ that his party promises – is beyond description.

“In every position of responsibility, the true and proper Okun person anchors his/her actions and activities on sincerity, selflessness, transparency, responsiveness, resourcefulness, probity, fairness, equity, justice, credibility, honour and humility,” it said.
