Melaye: We shall pursue case to logical conclusion —INEC chairman

National chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Professor Mahmoud Yakubu has said that his Commission was determined to exercise its statutory role in the processes for the recall of embattled senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye.

The processes for Senator Melaye’s recall has been stalled as a result of litigation instituted by Senator Melaye.

But addressing journalists on Tuesday at the Commission secretariat, Professor Yakubu said INEC was determined to ensure that the wishes of people of Kogi west to recall their representative was fulfilled.

The INEC chairman who noted that the matter was subjudice as a result of the pending court case maintained that his Commission remain resolute and would satisy the yearnings of the people of Kogi west.
