The popular ‘Area’ scream has been synonymous to people from the Warri part of Delta State and their indigenes have constantly increased the popularity of their slang through exceptional careers and taking over comedy platforms which Stephen Omughele has also become a force in; little wonder he is a protégé of the famous grand patron of Nigerian stand-up comedy.
Omughele, well known as Obaro Tiblaze, a seasoned stand-up comedian and graduate of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who connects fun to human race just like the wires in engineering, is the organiser of the annual comedy show ‘Fire of Lafta’.
“Wondering the connection? Well, if you look at the basics of engineering, it’s connecting one wire to another and this is what Obaro has successfully done with humor”, the September 17th born said when he was asked the reason he compares electronics to comedy.
He successfully sold out a show at Sheraton hotel, Ikeja and at MUSON Centre, Onikan, both in Lagos State, and continues to bring the fusion of comedy, music and dance to his ‘Lafta’ stage , featuring other prominent comedians like Alibaba, Ay, Gordons, Slk, Josh2funny, Kennyblaq and a host of others to make it a total exciting experience for the audience.
At his ‘Fire of Lafta’ show, he gives upcoming comedians the platform to showcase their talents both in Nigeria and Europe. Also, on his radio show, ‘Football banter’ on Top Radio, Lagos, he uses the platform to invite fellow comedians to support them with media exposure because he says, “I love charity and humanity”.
He has hosted and performed within and outside Nigeria and shared stages with major entertainers like Koffi, Tiwa Savage, Akpororo, Acapella , Sammie Okposo and so many others in the entertainment industry.
