A 34-year-old mechanic, Blossom Ajuamiye, on Tuesday appeared before a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly defrauding his customer of N1.5 million.
Ajuamiye, who resides in Abijo GRA, Anthony, Lagos, is facing a charge of fraud, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP. E. Okoi told the court that the defendant committed the offence in August 2018 at No. 5 Bamidele Madjigbe, Southern View Estate, Lekki, Lagos.

Okoi said that the defendant collected the money from the complainant, Mr Clement Udoh, to repair his Land Rover Jeep, which he failed to repair.
“The defendant promised to repair the complainant’s faulty Jeep with Registration No. APP 757 PR and gave him a bill of N1.5 million.
“He converted the money to his personal use and did not fix the vehicle,’’ the prosecutor said.
According to Okoi, the offence contravenes Section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 and stipulates 15 years imprisonment for offenders.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1million with two sureties in like sum.
Elias adjourned the case until Aug. 8.
