The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, has provided free medical services to children of a juvenile home in Abeokuta.
The service is part of the activities lined up for the Biennial General Meeting of the Association, as part of its resolve to give back to society.
The MDCAN chairman, Dr Titilola Ibiyemi, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, said the Association had made it a point to identify with the less privileged in society.
She said, “Two years ago, we were at Ibara Correctional Service to do the same thing. We wanted to continue last year but due to covid 19, we couldn’t do anything.

“We have special children who by one reason or the other have found themselves here. So we said the things they will need including children doctors, mental health specialists, some of them might have been involved in drugs. psychological and emotional.
“We’ve decided to give back part of what God has given us, we look for money to buy some things. It shows them we are aware they are here, we are aware they are special children. After this programme, we still plan to come back and give back to them.”
The association equally donated food items and other daily needs to the children of the home.
