One of the greatest books that I have ever read, and that has had the most significant impact on my life, is a book called Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy. In fact, it is the only book that I recommend to people just starting out on their personal development journey. It is the kind of book that, if you only read one book this year, read this one.
The book is split up into 12 chapters. In each one of the 12 chapters Brian Tracy goes through the different areas of your life that you need to master in order to live a happy and fulfilled life.
The chapters are as follows: Make Your Life A Masterpiece, The Seven Laws Of Mental Mastery, The Master Program, The Master Mind, The Master Skill, The Master Power, The Master Decision, The Master Goal, Mastering Human relationships, Mastering Personal Relationships, Mastering The Art Of Parenting and Mastery: The Power Of Love
Although there are a ton of great lessons spread through this book, I want to go over the main things that I highlighted while reading the book. This will give you a glimpse into the book while at the same time benefiting you.
The most important thing to consider, if you want to take your life to the next level, is to work on all the aspects of your life. In order to be truly happy and fulfilled and achieve true success, you have to make sure that you keep a balance between all the areas of your life. Although success means different things to different people, these “7 ingredients”, as Brian Tracy calls them, are the same for everyone. They are: Peace of mind, Health and energy, Loving relationships, Financial Freedom, Worthy goals and ideals, Self knowledge and self-awareness, and Personal Fulfillment.
The second thing is about the different laws that govern our universe. Brian Tracy covers all of the important laws that you have to understand and utilize if you want to achieve true success.
The laws are universal and work the same way for everyone. By understanding and acknowledging them, you will be able to take your life to a whole new level. These laws are as follows:
The law of control
You need to be in control of your life. The first step to achieving true success is to acknowledge that you are responsible for your life.
The law of cause and effect
The law of cause and effect states, that for every effect in your life there is a cause.
The law of belief
The law of belief states that whatever you believe with emotion becomes your reality.
The law of expectations
What you get in life is mostly not what you want, but what you expect.
The law of attraction
You attract people and situations in harmony with your inner thoughts into your life.
The law of correspondence
Your outer world reflects your inner world.
The law of mental equivalency
Vividly imagined thoughts become your reality.
Last but not least, Brian Tracy mentions the most crucial tools that you must utilize in order to speed up your progress towards your goals in life: visualization, affirmation, verbalization, acting the part, feeding your mind, associating with positive people and teaching others.
