The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one 40-year-old Inyangake James Peter for gruesomely murdering his 70-year-old biological mother, Mma-Offiong James Peter.
According to the statement issued by the police on Monday and made available to journalists in Akwa Ibom State, the incident took place on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at about 9:00 am in Ikpe Annang Village, Essien Udim LGA.
The Suspect according to the statement, had confessed to the crime event as he been transferred to the State CID for discrete investigation.

Endorsed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Odiko MackDon, the suspect on interrogation had alleged that he had a voice saying ” kill her”, ” kill her ” and he decided to oblige.
Similarly, one Solomon Asuquo Isaac of Ikot Obok Nsit in Nsit Ibom LGA who murdered his son, one Iboro Isaac, 18 years old last year as a result of family misunderstanding was arrested.
The statement however revealed that cases of some family members killing their biological relations has been of great concern to the Command in recent times.
Also, on 9/4/2024, the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Command on stop and search intercepted and arrested one Ekemini Edet Akpan of Ekpene Ikpan Village, Nsit Ibom LGA along Calabar Itu Highway by Raycon Construction Company, for being in possession of one locally made gun, one revolver pistol and eighteen live cartridges.
It stated that suspects will be charged to court when investigations are concluded.
