Matawalle lauds Sokoto govt’s support to armed forces, others

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, expressed his appreciation for the Sokoto State Government’s support to the Armed Forces and other security agencies during the handover ceremony of 10 operational vehicles for military forces in Sokoto.

This event took place at the Sokoto State Government House, the donated vehicles, which include 8 Buffalo trucks and 2 Toyota Hilux, are part of the Sokoto State Government’s ongoing partnership with the Federal Government to enhance security initiatives in the North-West region.

This donation follows a previous significant contribution in which Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto donated 100 operational vehicles to aid security forces in combating banditry and insurgency.

In a statement released by Ahmad Dan-Wudil, the Minister’s Personal Assistant on Media, Dr. Matawalle remarked, “I commend the Sokoto State Government for its steadfast support to the Armed Forces and other security agencies.”

He emphasized that these operational vehicles would greatly enhance the mobility and efficiency of security forces, enabling them to respond more effectively to security challenges. “The security of our nation demands a collective effort at every level. The Sokoto State Government has consistently demonstrated its dedication to this cause,” he added.

Brigadier General I.A. Ajosin, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, received the vehicles on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, expressing gratitude for the continued support for military operations in the region.

After the handover, Dr. Matawalle received a detailed operational briefing from the Air Component of Joint Operation Hadarin Daji in the North-West.

This briefing included an analysis of recent successes, such as the neutralization of several bandit leaders through coordinated air and ground offensives.

Dr. Matawalle commended the Air Component for their precision and effectiveness in disrupting bandit activities, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to providing necessary support for the continued success of Operation Hadarin Daji.

He concluded, “Your achievements are a testament to your professionalism and dedication. Rest assured, the Federal Government will continue to provide all necessary support.”
