A group of concerned Margi elders based in Maiduguri have expressed gratitude to the federal government for its role in the release of their daughters who were captured last year by Boko Haram insurgents.
The group led by Its spokesman Isa Chul addressed newsmen in Maiduguri on Wednesday morning with a mammoth crowd of over twenty of its members mostly elders and retired military and civil service personnel who looked really excited.
The elders numbering about twenty told a jam-packed press conference in Maiduguri that their joy knew no bounds recently when ten abducted women including one policewoman of margi extraction were released recently by the Boko Haram to the government.
Insurgent leader Abubakar Shekau had captured the ladies unexpectedly on the trunk on a road between Damboa and Maiduguri while they were off to bury one of their own in a large convoy headed for Lasa in Askira Uba
The convoy was interrupted halfway and the vehicle of the ladies including an elderly lecturer of the school of fisheries was diverted into the Sambisa forest to serve as butty of war and sex slaves to the insurgents.
They had to be in the bush from last year till this month when negotiations were concluded and only ten out of the sixteen earlier missing was released.

They were released and handed over to the red cross alongside Dr Solomon Yusuf, his graduate assistant and their driver who was taken by another faction not Shekau to the government.
