Several people were killed on Tuesday as suspected armed herders invaded Otobi community in Akpa district of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The renewed attack is the third in the month of April as suspected armed herders have reportedly turned the community to slaughter lab.

A resident of Otobi community, who simply identified himself as Edwin Emma told newsmen on Tuesday that armed herders stormed the community in a commando manner shooting and burning down houses.
The local who spoke on the phone said that several persons are feared killed and many houses burnt down
He said, “We are being attacked by herdsmen at Otobi community, my wife and children are fleeing from the community as I speak, please call for help.”
The lawmaker representing Otukpo-Akpa at the Benue State House of Assembly, Kennedy Angbo who confirmed the incident said that the attackers invaded the community around 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
According to the lawmaker who hails from Akpa district, in a telephone conversation with newsmen Tuesday evening said that many corpses have been recovered and hundreds flee the community.
“Right now, many people are feared killed and hundreds of people have fled the community,” the lawmaker said.
Efforts to get the spokesperson for Benue State Command for confirmation were not successful as calls made to her phone did not connect.
