A man in Germany suspected of slaying his 79-year-old grandmother, and who subsequently killed two police officers on Tuesday, has been detained, the police spokesperson, Baerbel Cotte-Weiss, said.
The suspect was said to have rammed them with his car.
The body of the man’s grandmother was discovered by the authorities in the east German town of Muellrose earlier in the day.
This prompted the suspect to flee in his car, police spokesperson, Ingo Heese, said.
The 24-year-old then rammed the two officers at a checkpoint in the eastern state of Brandenburg and both succumbed to their injuries at the scene, Heese said.
