A 22-year old man identified as Mayowa, on Sunday, allegedly stabbed to death his cousin, Oreoluwa Adetimehin in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The suspect who has been arrested by the police said he was possessed by the devil who instructed him to kill two people.

Narrating her ordeal, Mrs Olajumoke Adetimehin, the victim’s mother said she left her 24-year old daughter at home to attend a church service only to return to her lifeless body.

She said, the deceased asked that she be allowed to stay back at home to sew the dress for her convocation ceremony coming up on December 12.

She said, “I left Oreoluwa, the deceased, at home at three minutes past ten for Church. I left her with my nephew. We all were supposed to attend the birthday party of a friend together.

“My daughter, Oreoluwa, asked that I allow her stay back to sew her dress with the newly acquired sewing machine I purchased for her.

“The said dress would have been used for her convocation ceremony slated for 12th December, 2024. I don’t know if the suspect, my nephew, wanted to sleep with her or not, however, from all indications, he stabbed her repeatedly.

“Meanwhile my daughter, Oreoluwa, is older than him with 2 years.

“Upon getting back to the house, I was surprised to find the gate open, I was wondering if the people I left at home had gone out to get something while leaving the gate wide open.

“After gaining access to the house, I saw the room of my daughter opened also. I became perplexed. I checked other rooms within the house only to discover that Mayowa, my nephew had stabbed Oreoluwa, my daughter, at different sections of her body.

“With the help of others, my daughter, Oreoluwa, was rushed to Zenith hospital where she was pronounced dead.”
