On Tuesday afternoon, an unidentified man reportedly jumped into the lagoon via the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and no substantial details are available at the moment.
However, the police have been informed and are investigating the matter.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the South West Director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and Nosa Okunbor, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), have both stated that they are not aware of the incident.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, revealed that marine policemen and other emergency responders have been dispatched to the scene.
Hundeyin stated, “We only got a report that somebody jumped into the lagoon. There is no eyewitness. No CCTV footage.”
He further added, “Meanwhile, our marine police and others are there now to see if he can be rescued.”
