A 30-year-old man, Toheeb Oyediran, was on Wednesday brought before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing an air conditioner and other valuable items worth N387,000.
Oyediran, of no fixed address, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and burglary.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Abdulkareem Mustapha told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 15 at about 7.30 a.m. at Faka Fiki Company, Tollgate, Ota.

Mustapha alleged that the defendant broke into the storehouse of the company to steal air conditioner and other valuable items worth N387, 000 belonging to the company.
He said that the defendant was caught by the company’s security in the process of committing the crime and was handed over to the police.
Mustapha said that the offences contravened Sections 390 (8b) and 416 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Mathew Akinyemi, granted the defendant N200, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Akinyemi said that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed.
The case was adjourned until Sept. 2 for further hearing.
