A 32-year-old man, Sunday Samuel, was on Friday docked before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly obtaining N320,000 under false pretences.
Samuel is facing a two-count charge of obtaining money under false pretences and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

The Prosecutor, ASP. Akpan Ikem told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 10, at Muhammadu Buhari Housing Estate, Atinporomen, Mowo, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Ikem said that Samuel collected N320, 000 fraudulently from Kehinde Joseph, under false pretences, to help him pay for contribution, which he never did.
“The defendant stole the sum of N320, 000 belonging to the plaintiff.
“The offences contravened Sections 313 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.
The Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted the accused bail of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until July 30 forces mention.
