Man beats wife to death in Ogun

One Kingsley Madukwe is now cooling his heels with the men of the Ogun State Police Command for beating his wife, Glory Madukwe, to death.

The incident, according to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, happened at Atan-Ota area of the state.

The suspect who hails from Ihiala in Anambra State, was alleged to have slapped his wife, said to be nursing a month old baby, following a misunderstanding between them.

Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the incident was reported by a village head of Egando in Atan-Ota, Chief Rafiu Gbadamosi, to the police.

The police based on the information arrested Kingsley, a motorcycle rider, by the DPO of Atan-Ota Division,  SP Salau Abiodun and his team.

Upon interrogation, the suspect informed the Police that he got annoyed with the action of his wife, for not attending to the one month old baby who was crying for food.

He said the attitude of his wife who claimed to be tired got him annoyed and made him slap her which resulted to her death.

The PPRO said that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the State Hospital,  Ota,  while the suspect on the order of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, would be transferred to the Homicide Section of the Command for further investigation.
