Adamu of Tudun Murtala Quarters in Kano was charged under Section 287 of the penal code for theft.
Chief Magistrate Kabiru Abubakar sentenced Adamu to three months in prison or N10,000 fine after he pleaded guilty.
Abubakar also ordered the convict to pay N50,000 to the nominal complainant as compensation for the spare parts.
The chief magistrate said that should the defendant refuse to pay the N50,000 compensation, he would be sentenced to additional three months jail term.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Junaidu Aminu, had told the court that Robot Kusa of Dawakin Dakata Small Scale Industry reported the matter at the Dakata Police Division, Kano, on June 3.
Aminu said the convict had on June 3, stole the complainant’s machine spare parts.
