Kehinde who was caught at the premises of a photo laboratory located at Leo Area of Akure, the Ondo state capital, confessed to the crime.
According to a source, the Manager of the Photo laboratory, Mr Chris Okori, explained that the suspect came into the premises around 6:05 am with a commercial motorcyclist who parked at the junction while the suspect went to bring the stolen diesel from the compound.
He, however, said luck ran against the suspect when one of the workers of the laboratory came out of the house and saw him going out of the compound with the jerry can containing the diesel.
He said while the suspect was queried, he took to his heel but was caught a few meters from the scene of the incident while trying to change his dress to avoid being identified.
When the man was interrogated, he confessed that he had come to steal diesel in the compound in order to raise money to pay his children school fee.
Okori, however, said, stealing of diesel from the compound was not the first time, disclosing that over 250 litres of diesel in seven jerry cans were taken away from the compound some few months ago.
He also said some people invaded the compound last year and vandalised a Toyota Lexus 350 Jeep and made away with the brain box, window switch, lighting and other valuable parts removed.
