Man absconds after wife delivers twins

The father of a set of twins, Mr Michael Thomas Adebayo, 45, has bolted after the news that his wife was delivered of a set of twins, was broken to him.

Adebayo, who lives in Ijero-Ekiti, headquarters of Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State with his wife, was said to have taken off from home shortly after he heard a message from the hospital that his wife, Toyin, had given birth to a new set of twins.

The Chief Medical Director of the State’s Specialist Hospital, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. Adebanjo Olagbaju, disclosed the development when the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose visited the hospital as part of her routine visits to hospitals in the state.

A statement by the media aide of Mrs. Fayose, Gbenga Ariyibi, quoted Dr. Olagbaju to have disclosed that Mrs Toyin Adebayo had been abandoned since the delivery of the babies in November 2016.

However, Mrs Fayose defrayed the medical bill of the woman during her visit to the hospital.

Dr Olagbaju commended Mrs Fayose, whom he noted had made it an habit of  providing soccour to the needy in the society

“l must commend you on behalf of the management of the hospital for providing soccour to the needy in the society. You departed sharply from the attitude of some wives of governors who would just visit to hospital once in a year after. But yours is not like that, you come on a regular basis to help and save lives of the people,” the CMD stated.

Mrs Fayose said she would continue to assist the less privileged members of the society.

She, however, tasked the CMD of the hospital to do more findings on the circumstances that led Adebayo tithe disappearance of the father of the twins.
