A 45-year-man, Saheed Bello, who allegedly conspired with others to obtained N2.3m under false pretence appeared at an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday.
Bello, who is of no fixed address, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Adegeshin Famuyiwa told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Sept.12, 2018 at No.1, Surulere Str., Kokoro Abu in Ikorodu at about 2:10 p.m.

Famuyiwa said the accused fraudulently obtained N700, 000 being paid for land at Muti area of Igbo-Olomu in Ikorodu from one Mr Ezekiel Ifeanyi.
She said that the defendant at the same time and date converted the sum of N1.6m to his personal use without the consent of the owner.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offences contravene Section 411, 314(a) and 280(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Magistrate, E. O. Ogunkanmi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until June 13 for mention.
