The Preliminary rounds of the Maltina School Games 2021 edition will is scheduled to start 20th May this year in Abuja.
The preliminary competition, which will determine the athletes that will go through to the state finals, will be held across the eight different locations in Abuja, including Government Secondary School, Danagara, Government Secondary School, Kwali.
Others are Government Secondary School, Kuje, Government Secondary School, Gwagwalada, Government Secondary School, Maje, Junior Secondary School DutseSangwari, Government Day Secondary School, Karu and Government Secondary School Tudun Wada.
Commenting on the event, Senior Brand Manager, Maltina, Elohor Olumide-Awe said, “We are glad to announce the commencement of the State preliminaries, not just in Lagos State but in four different states within the Federation.

“It’s been an exciting period of planning for the Maltina Team, and seeing all the planning come to life is beyond amazing. I’m sure the students have been working hard and practicing as well. We trust that this edition will be a memorable one”.
“We are particularly grateful to the Nigerian School Sports Federation(NSSF) for their cooperation as well as the State Ministry of Education for their immense contribution to the successful planning of this event. To the hardworking athletes, I say good luck, and may the odds be in your favour.”
The event will be coordinated by the NSSF in collaboration with the state Ministry of education, and will also be held in different regions across Bauchi, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The best 2 athletes from each preliminary will qualify for the state finals.
There will be 4 sub-categories in each category(Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys & Senior Girls). The athletes will compete in track events which include 100m Sprint, 200m Sprint, 400m, 800m and 4x100m relay.
The Maltina School Games is an annual track and field competition organised by Maltina and it’s designed to enhance the all-around development of young people through sporting activities.
