Oyo governor, Engr Seyi Makinde will lead notable Nigerians at the 70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA) which is scheduled to kick off with the Jumat service at Ansar U Deen mosque, Oke-Ado on Friday.
Other dignitaries expected to be in attendance include; the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, (SAN), Dr Wale Babalakin, and the Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacheus Adedeji.
The list also includes; Oyo State Internally Generated Revenue, Olufemi Awakan, NBA President, Afam Osigwe and the Minister for Justice and Antoney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, Aare Afe Babalola, (SAN), Retired Justice of Court of Appeal, Justice Peter Olabisi Ige, Ahmed Raji (SAN), Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), and the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima.
Adedeji and other tax experts are expected to speak on Tax Reform Bill initiated by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Also, Justice Wale Babalakin (rtd) will be made the Patron of the NBA Ibadan branch.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee Adebayo Mutalubi Ojo (SAN) disclosed while unfolding the programme of the event at a press briefing in Ibadan on Thursday.
He described the Ibadan bar as pacesetter and foremost formal organised bar in the nation being the first-ever association of lawyers in Nigeria.
Ojo said the bar has produced crop of lawyers who are doing great in their field of careers.
