Makeup tips for ladies who use glasses

Published by

ONCE upon a time, ladies who used glasses had more or less no business looking fashionable. Little wonder they were usually referred to as nerds. However, with the evolution in frames and the many cute designs available, you don’t necessary need to reach for your contact lens. While looking fashionable with your beautifully-designed frames, ladies who wear glasses have to decide on what type of makeup to use to look pretty in your glasses no matter what.

Let your frames express your style
Rather than stick to the everyday, usual styles which date back more than five decades ago, go for more trendy styles that express the stylish you. Don’t hold back when it comes to bold colours, as this will help to present a better makeup outlook.

Contour
There are times when glasses cast shadows on your eyes, and the best thing to do is, lighten up certain parts of your skin. Use lighter foundation in the skin surrounding your nose as well as under the eyes. For those who’d prefer, opt for bronzer on your cheekbones, side of the nose and top of the forehead.

Shape brows according to frame
Endeavour that the frames match the size and style of your glasses. For bolder frames, eyebrows should be shaped thinly, while for slimmer frames, brows should be full and defined.

Get creative with eye makeup
Contrary to the assumption that makeup for the eyes should be as minimal as possible for women who use glasses, feel free to get creative with your eyes. Whether cat eye, cut-crease, smokey eyes, among others, bold and striking eye makeup would work well for you too. When choosing shade of eyeshadow, take into consideration the colour of your frame.

Lips
If the design of the glass frame tends towards the bold design category, and you have also opted for the dramatic with your eyes, then the makeup for the lips must be as moderate as possible. Opt for lipstick in neutral shade or just settle with lip gloss.

Feel free to add a bit of shine
Add glitters to your lower lids, as this will make your eyes pop out more; the best way to do so is to put some shimmer colour on your lower lid. You can also apply eyeliner around your eyes to make your eyes look bigger, especially if the glasses have dwarfed the size of your eyes.

Highlight your cheekbones
Glasses have a way of highlighting various appealing parts of your face, like the cheekbones. If you wish to make the cheekbones pop out even more, you can just easily apply either light foundation or highlighter. Apply this around the cheekbones and your face will look as thin as ever!

Foundation
When laying the foundation for the face, take into consideration and ensure a good finishing that will not crease from the weight of your glasses, else the look is defeated. Also, put in efforts not to make the look too plastic so that the glasses don’t keep sliding off your nose.
