Major Boost for Ibadan: DSS and 2nd Mechanised Division Pledge Support for Upcoming Western Zonal Conference

The Local Organising Committee, under the leadership of Conference Chairman Mr. ‘Biodun Adedeji FCA, orchestrated a flurry of activities yesterday, marked by visits to critical institutions for their support. The committee made significant stops at the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the 2nd Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army.

During the visit to the DSS, the State Director, Mr. John Margima, FSI, extended a warm welcome to the delegation, assuring them of the department’s commitment to ensuring security throughout the upcoming conference. Mr. Margima ensured the presence of members from the Finance Department and appointed Dr. Oluwole Faluyi FCA, an ICAN member and the Director of Security and Surveillance, to chair the Security Sub-committee, solidifying the DSS’s dedication to the event.

The delegation’s engagement with the 2nd Mechanised Division, led by GOC Major General B.A. Alabi, was equally fruitful. Major General Alabi expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged to dispatch finance members from the Nigerian Army to cover multiple states under the Division’s jurisdiction, ensuring adequate security for conference delegates. Conference Chairman Mr. Abiodun Adedeji FCA provided a comprehensive briefing on the conference and extended invitations to the hosts for both the opening and closing ceremonies. He underscored the historical significance of Ibadan hosting such an event and stressed the importance of widespread stakeholder participation in making it a success.
