Maikanti Baru, former GMD of NNPC is dead

Immediate past Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr Maikanti Kachalla Baru is dead.

One of the close friends and classmates to the late Maikanti Baru confirmed the death in his verified Facebook page, he wrote: “Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un.
Just received the sad news of the death of former GM of NNPC group Dr Maikanti Baru, he passed away last night. May his gentle soul rest in peace, May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and May Jannatul Firdausi be his final abode Pray for him please”.

Bappah Aliyu Misau wrote: “A BOSSOM FRIEND, A BROTHER AND CLASSMATE SHORT OF WORDS TO QUALIFY THE RELATIONSHIP PASSED Away. DR MAIKANTI BARU Kachalla, MAY GOD FORGIVE YOUR Shortcomings”.

Maikanti Baru was said to have died in Abuja not in Egypt as earlier stated according to a family source from Misau, he died in the early hours of today Saturday and will be buried in Abuja.
May his soul rest in peace.
