Guru-Maharaji
THE founder of One Love Family worldwide, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’d Abubakar, to use his revered position to speak to the people of the Northern Nigeria on the need to work for enduring national peace.
Doing so, according to Maharaj ji, would boost the confidence of other ethnic groups that make up Nigeria on the principle of co-existence.
Maharaj Ji stated this at a press conference preparatory to his 69th birthday anniversary in his village, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
He affirmed his belief in the unity of Nigeria, but frowned on situation in which some Northern elements would work against the co-existence of ethic groups.
Maharaj Ji also called on the Federal Government to confirm the appointment of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, and requested President Muhammadu Buhari to rely on the report of the presidential advisory committee on corruption.
He also called on government to come up with a policy that would make cement available to Nigerians at affordable price.
According to him, a good number of banks operate as traders, a contrast to their traditional role as an auxiliary to national development.
He also cautioned the government from prosecuting a reprisal attack on the Niger-Delta militants, describing such move as counter-productive, capable of aggravating the situation.
He said the militants should instead be provided with basic needs to demonstrate government love for them.
